HOME IMPROVEMENT VENTURES
I’ve never had a whole lot of luck with any of my home improvement ventures. I’m not very good at plumbing or electrical work and most wood cutting tools scare the heck out of me. That’s why I bought the absolute newest house that I could afford – I figured the newer the house the fewer repairs that would have to be performed on it. My two older brothers can handle just about any project put in front of them, between the two they have: built sheds, built decks, replaced floor joists, rewired entire rooms, set up home theaters and fixed staircases – where as I can twist an ankle just trying to change a light bulb. The way I see it, home improvements are best left to the people who can not only handle them, but enjoy doing them and I simply don’t fall into that category. Hey at least I’ve got brothers that can help me when things do come up in my house so I won’t have to go broke hiring contractors and handymen to do the jobs. I used to let it bother me, until I realized that there were just as many things that I could do that they had trouble with, now I’m just thankful that they are around to do my repairs and they are happy that I’m around when their computers give them problems.
